JR Smith to still come off the bench?

According to blogger Mark Travis, it looks like JR Smith will continue to ride the pine at the start of games despite previous reports. It seemed inevitable after JR’s breakout season last year and Dahntay leaving to the Pacers for more money, that JR would be the starter.
In talking to Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl at today’s NBA Summer League action, Karl stated to me that Smith will be coming off the bench for the Nuggets next season. Karl cited a lack of improvement maturity wise on the part of Smith as the reason for him coming off [...]

Nugs aquire another ex-Pistons guard

The Nuggets receive promising guard Aaron Afflalo and Walter Sharpe in return for a future 2nd round draft pick. This looks strictly like a cap cutting deal for the Pistons, but we’ve seen how well those have worked out for them recently with the AI-Billups trade. With the addition of Afflalo, that gives the Nuggets their 3rd PG with Chauncey and 1st round pick Lawson being the other one. I guess this is the end for AC. I knew this day would come, I just never thought it would be this soon.

Chauncey’s no Elway; goes back to old number

If you don’t notice something weird about this picture, you haven’t been watching enough Nuggets.  After paying tribute to his favorite player as a kid, Chauncey has decided it’s time to go back to the number in which he won his titles with.  He will don JR’s former number, 1.
