Standing Pat

As the trade deadline looms with a little less than 15 hours left, there is still no indications that the Nuggets are going to make a trade. While teams like Dallas and Portland have looked to upgrade their teams, but all indications are the Nuggets standing pat.

They inquired about Ben Wallace, Antonio McDyess, Ronny Turiaf, Hakim Warrick and Kurt Thomas. However, logically Turiaf, McDyess and Big Ben would really help this team and of the three only Big Ben’s salary is contract friendly.

The Nuggets don’t have the best trading assets, as very few teams have bit on the likes of Malik Allen, Johan Petro and Renaldo Balkman and a few trade exceptions.

While a trade isn’t needed, an upgrade in the post would help, whether it is Drew Gooden in a buyout or Wallace in a trade. There does need some help for the Nuggets to stay with the Cavs and Lakers.
