Just call Carmelo Anthony Mr. Clutch and his shot against Toronto on Friday is arguably the biggest shot of the year and maybe his biggest shot as a Nugget (outside of his shot against Dallas in the second round of the playoffs last season).
But just think about this, the Nuggets were on a three-game losing streak and on third game of a huge five-game road stand. Not to mention Denver is in a close knit race with the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks and a win over Toronto and Utah’s unexpected loss to Indiana has now pushed Denver a half [...]

Shot heard around Denver
Too early to worry?
The Nuggets have dropped two in a row to subpar teams, which hurts in a tight playoff race. Their head coach is most likely out until the postseason. Their defensive leader may also be out until the playoffs. Their stud starting point guard Ty Lawson may have lost his job to journeyman Anthony Carter. Their two star players have all but forgotten how to pass the ball. They have arguably the toughest schedule to the end the season and not to be overlooked they are again tied with the Dallas Mavericks as second in the West and only one game [...]
Where’d the O go?
I’m not sure where the Nuggets offense went, it might be loss in Houston or Memphis but it is definitely not in Denver. The Nuggets haven’t broken 100 points for the third straight game Saturday and this one cost them a W. Of course it is easy to see what went wrong with this, there were three ball hogs who didn’t see a need to pass the ball.
Yes, we hear the same old thing from the team after every game. They lacked intensity, they weren’t ready to play, they had no energy. Yep, we’ve heard every excuse in the books [...]
No Respect
Not sure what Melo did, but the officials the last few games just don’t want to give him calls. For as good as a player Melo is and how well he has been playing he has been getting no respect from the officials.
Since the Nuggets left for the road trip, Carmelo Anthony has shot only 28 free throws in seven games. Compared to Lebron, who has shot 51 free throws in his previous four games and it isn’t like Melo is just shooting jump shots. He is shooting from all over, behind the arc, midrange and attacking the basket and still [...]
Just call them the comeback kids
The Denver Nuggets are on the verge of going undefeated on their most recent four-game road trip and the most interesting part of it was how bad Denver has played to start each game.
The Nuggets were facing deficits in each contest, trailing Minnesota 53-48 at halftime and 60-52 early in the third quarter. They were also behind early to New Orleans and faced a 75-73 deficit going into the final quarter. Nothing was worst than the foul-plagued first half against the Memphis Grizzles and the Nuggies were down once against at halftime, 63-58. However, in each game Denver came through at the [...]
What’s not to like about the Nuggets victory over the T-Wolves?
Chauncey Billups alley-oop to JR Smith, which wasn’t just an alley-oop but a 360 alley-oop.
JR canning three treys in a row in the third quarter to help the Nuggets overcome the nine-point deficit.
Chris Andersen’s double-double.
Or the Birdman protecting the nest and recording three blocks.
Melo’s all-around game, where he scored 19 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Nene posting 17 points and nine rebounds.
Billups had 25 points and shot 9-of-18 from the field.
Anthony Carter handing out eight assists.
Of course, there are the things that weren’t as enjoyable.
JR [...]
With and without K-Mart
It was a mix of bad news and good news regarding Kenyon Martin and the Denver Nuggets on Monday. Martin, who has missed the previous two games will have to undergo platelet rich plasma therapy according to the Denver Post’s Benjamin Hochman. And the good news is K-Mart won’t have to have surgery, but the bad news is he may be out until the playoffs.
Without K-Mart out the Nuggets miss their defensive captain and one of the team’s leaders on the team. And without him, the Nuggets (42-21) chances of catching the Dallas Mavericks (44-21) and the No. 2 spot [...]
Is there any doubt that the Northwest Division is the best division in the league? It has four teams that will most likely be in the playoffs, Denver (42-21), Utah (40-22), Oklahoma City (38-24) and Portland (37-28).
For the first time this year, Johan Petro started at Center for the Denver Nuggets and actually played well,
‘Frenchy’ as his teammates call him had four points and game-high 10 rebounds in 23 minutes. Hopefully this is the lineup that Coach Karl goes with while K-Mart is hurt. You can never go wrong having a frontline of 7-foot and 6-foot-11. Nene definitely enjoyed it, [...]
