The Denver Nuggets rumors have dwindled down a little as the whole basketball world turns its attention to the NBA Finals. Like most of the teams in the League the next month will be spent evaluating draft prospects.
The Nuggets did recently hold workouts for a few NBA hopefuls this week. Iman Schumpert, Cory Higgins, Nolan Smith, Charles Jenkins, Nikola Vucevic, Travis Leslie and Jordan Williams.
Players like Schumpert, Higgins, Smith and Vucevic helped their stock with the Nuggets. The predraft workouts also gave George Karl and his staff a look at two potential assistant coaches – former Nuggets Darvin Ham and Ryan Bowen.
There Can Be Only One
The Denver Post’s columnist Mark Kiszla recently stated the importance of the Nuggets trading Raymond Felton because it is impacting the growth of Ty Lawson. And what the Nuggets can get for Felton will go a long way to the growth of the team.
Hunt To Houston?
Nuggets assistant coach Melvin Hunt will be interviewing for an assistant coaching job with the Houston Rockets this weekend. He was an assistant there from 1999-2004. If he does choose to take the Rockets job, it would be a big blow to the Nuggets coaching staff which is currently trying to replace assistant Stacey Augmon.
No Offseason For Birdman
After a disappointing season riddled with injuries, Chris Andersen has started the offseason with a strong workout with Steve Hess to get in better shape for next season. Andersen started to return to form late in the season and George Karl hopes he returns to the same level next year.
