According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Denver Nuggets free agent guard JR Smith officially signed a deal to play for China.

He is the second free agent for the Nuggets that has signed to play in China, Wilson Chandler signed earlier this month.

Smith, who just recently turned 26, reportedly signed for $3 million – which is the most money for any player that plays for China Basketball Association.

It is good timing for Smith to get a deal, earlier Tuesday the players and the League made little progress in ending the NBA Lockout which seems more and more likely to cut into the NBA season and maybe even canceling the year.

If the NBA season does end up happening, Smith won’t be able to play in the League until late March and even April due to CBA rules.
