Chris Andersen may soon have to find a new nest.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Denver Nuggets are open to trading Andersen before the March 15 Trade Deadline.

Andersen has played seven of his 10 years in Denver, but at the age of 33 his best days are behind him. So far this season, Andersen has had eight games in which he didn’t see the floor and he has fallen further back behind other big men, Timofey Mozgov, Kosta Koufos and even rookie Kenneth Faried.

Andersen has played well over the last three games, but when the Nuggets get a healthy front line Andersen may be relegated to the bench again.

Andersen is due close to $9.5 million over the next two years, which makes it hard to deal the big man. If not dealt at the trade deadline there is a good possibility that he will be a victim of the amnesty clause.
