Nuggets Seal Playoff Spot

The Denver Nuggets brought their ‘A’ game on Saturday, just in time to seal their spot in the NBA playoffs – with just three games left in the season.

It was the duo of Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried that led the way. Faried had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. He started the game off with 10 points and 3 rebounds in the first period.

Lawson dominated the game from the very start, scoring a season and game-best 29 points and adding 10 assists. But it seemed like every thing he shot went in, hitting 10 of 16 from the field and hitting all five of his 3-point attempts.

The victory also was George Karl and Denver’s second in a row in Phoenix, before Karl had lost 13 straight road games to the Suns.

With Saturday’s victory and with the Dallas Mavericks losing, the Nuggets moved up to sixth in the West. Denver still has three games left, Sunday’s home finale vs. Orlando and the season’s final two games no the road in Oklahoma City and Minnesota.

The Mavericks have one final game, and that is on the road in Atlanta on Thursday.
