Ty Lawson sat out the Nuggets 92-78 win against the Clippers Tuesday night due to a left Achilles injury. While Andre Miller filled in nicely for the Nuggets with 12 points and 12 assists, Denver is hoping their floor general returns soon. As of now, Lawson is listed as day-to-day.

Lawson was scheduled for an MRI today, but the severity of the injury and his availability against the Minnesota Timberwolves isn’t know as of press.

Along with Miller, Nuggets Coach George Karl used swingman Andre Iguodala at the point against the Clippers and will continue to do so depending on the matchup. Rookie Evan Fournier could also find his way on the court to spell the veterans.

With the Nuggets returning home for six of their next seven games, Miller was one of three Nuggets who put in extra time after practice Wednesday afternoon.

Lawson, who is averaging 13.6 points per game along with a team-high 6.9 assists, is looking to return to his form last season where he was widely regarded as one of the top young point guards in the league before agreeing to a contract extension in the offseason.
