You’ve heard the rumors about a possible Greg Oden signing by the Miami Heat, but as Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported, the Heat brought in former Denver Nuggets big man Chris Andersen for a workout on Monday.

The 6’10” Andersen played two stints with the Nuggets and was waived this past offseason under the amnesty clause. While Andersen has put up sub-par numbers in his career, his shot blocking ability, rebounding skill and the fact that he gives 100 percent at all times on the court made him a fan favorite in Denver. Not to mention his colorful tattoos which includes “Free Bird” along his neck.

Andersen is currently under investigation for child pornography, Internet luring and child predators. The case has been under investigation since last February. A women who claimed to be 21-years-old send Andersen pictures of her and letters wanting to meet the then 33-year-old. When Andersen stopped showing interest, she threatened to retaliate.

Andersen’s attorney Mark Bryant told the Denver Post, “This had nothing to do with children. This had to do with an individual who represented herself as legal age and then some, and by the way, is and was at legal age.”

In his final season with the Nuggets, Andersen averaged 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 32 games.
