The search for the new head coach of the Nuggets has expanded to include former Los Angeles Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro. What looked to be a three person race a few days ago has drastically changed. First Adrian Wojnarowski reported that shortly after George Karl’s firing the Nuggets offered a first round pick to the Boston Celtics for Doc Rivers. Boston has since traded Doc Rivers to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Now, the Nuggets have interviewed Vinny Del Negro for their vacant head coaching job. Vinny Del Negro was just let go by the Los Angeles Clippers after he could not get along with their star players despite 56 wins.At times during the season, he was criticized for his player rotations. Chris Paul was also rumored to have expressed his desire for Del Negro to be let go.

In three seasons with the Clippers he had a record of 128-102. Before, becoming the Los Angeles Clippers coach he struggled with the Chicago Bulls for two seasons from 2008 until 2010 compiling a record of 82-82. He also had problems getting along with management in Chicago and never advanced past the first round of the playoffs with Chicago.
