The Denver Nuggets have re-signed center Timofey Mozgov to a three-year contract worth $14 million.

The 7’1″ Mozgov averaged 2.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in just 8.9 minutes per game last season.

Mozgov will have an increased role for Brian Shaw and the Nuggets this upcoming season due to the departure of Kosta Koufos, who started 81 games last year. Koufos was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies on draft night for forward Darrell Arthur and the rights to Joffrey Lauvergne, the No. 55 pick in the 2013 draft.

The Russian big man will likely backup JaVale McGee for the new-look Nuggets this season.
