Tough Stretch Ahead For The Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have been playing well of late, but have a tough schedule upcoming. The week ahead will be a huge test to see how good the Nuggs really are, and we will find out a lot about this team. So far we have seen a deep team that is able to put up a lot of points, but the question is will they be able to compete with some of the best teams in the West?

The first test for the Nuggets will be tomorrow night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder come to town riding a 6 game win streak and a record of 19-4. Kevin Durant is being Kevin Durant right now, and the Thunder are simply rolling teams. The Nuggets lost a heart breaker to the Thunder earlier this season, and will look for revenge. A win is not out of the question tomorrow, but it will have to be earned.

The next test the Nuggets will face this week is the Phoenix Suns. The Suns record is currently 14-9, and they have won 5 games in a row. Their most recent win came against a very good Golden State Warriors team. The Suns have been led by young guard Eric Bledsoe, and they have been exceeding expectations. Their match-up Friday against the Nuggets should be a good one considering the last game featured a bench mob. The Suns beat the Nuggets in that game by 11, but I expect Denver to have better results this time around.

The final test for the Nuggets this week is the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are 16-9 and have won 3 of their last 4. They will meet the Nuggets at home Saturday December 21st. The two teams have not faced off this season, but I expect a close game. Chris Paul and Blake Griffen will certainly create problems for the Nuggets but the game will definitely be interesting.

The Nuggets have been playing great basketball, but the next few games will determine many things. We will see how legit they are, and we will also see what they need to work on. This tough stretch will give the Nuggets some experience and will help them to grow as a team as the season goes on. Nuggets fans should be happy with at least 2 wins, but more than that will be a great sign for the team.
