The Denver Nuggets got off to a big lead Friday night, but were unable to hold onto it. It is a really frustrating loss for the team since it appeared that they had the game in control. We knew this was going to be a tough stretch for the Nuggs, but this was a win they really needed. Ty Lawson was clearly affected from his sickness, and it hurt the team. The Suns were able to capitalize on the Nuggets mistakes late, and that ultimately led them to victory.

Ty Lawson was able to play tonight despite having the flu. However, he was not very affective on the floor. The point-guard struggled all night and shot 3-11 from the field. Lawson was able to score 13 points to go along with 7 assists. J.J. Hickson had another double-double, and Wilson Chanlder continued to score well by dropping in 15 points. The Nuggets really didn’t play a bad game at all tonight, but the Suns just were able to play better when it mattered.

The Suns got most of their scoring off the bench as Markieff Morris had 25 and Gerald Green had 19. Also having a nice game off the bench was Marcus Morris who had 14 points. The Suns bench took some notes from the Nuggets and out-produced them in a category that they usually do well in. Eric Bledsoe didn’t make much of an impact for the Suns as he scored only 10 points for the Suns. Leading the way for the starters was Gorgan Dragic. Dragic had 17 and 6 and had a better game than Bledsoe which was not expected.

This is a hard loss for the Nuggets to swallow. They have now lost two in a row and can’t seem to string a few wins together. It is really disappointing to see the Nuggs lose a game they should have won. It appears that the Suns have the Nuggets number, which is not good considering that we play them two more times this season. Up next for the Nuggets is the Los Angeles Clipper this Saturday which will not be much easier.
