The Denver Nuggets simply can’t win a game. Things are bad in Denver. Really bad. Last night, the Nuggets lost to the bottom feeding Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers have been awful this year, and this game was the perfect chance to grab an easy win. Unfortunately, the Nuggets were unable to do get the game job done at home. The losing streak is ugly, and the Nuggs have shown the signs of hope of improving to fans.

The Nuggets best player of late has been J.J. Hickson, and that is a problem. It is great how well Hickson is playing, but he should not be the teams leading score every night. Wilson Chandler who is supposed to be the best scorer on the team, has been struggling. However, last night he scored 16 points, and grabbed 7 boards. Ty Lawson had a double-double as he scored 15 points and had 11 assists. The Nuggets have been getting solid contributions from the starter lately, but the bench has not been able to help out.

The Sixers have been playing freely all year long and it paid off once again last night. The Sixers got a big game out of Evan Turner who scored 23 points. Turner has been carrying the Sixers, but it will be interesting to see if he finishes the season in Philly. Michael Carter-Williams played well once again for the Sixers and has done more than exceed expectations. The way he has playing this year could easily lead to a rookie of the year award for the young man from Syracuse.

It has been a rough stretch for the Nuggets, and fans can’t be happy. It is really disappointing how badly the Nuggs have been, and they have even fallen out of the top 8 in the West. Someone needs to step up quickly for the Nuggets or nothing is going to change. The suspension of Andre Miller just adds more hostility around the squad. Hopefully the Nuggets can snap their streak tomorrow night when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
