Nuggets Vs. Grizzlies Game Preview

Tonight the Denver Nuggets will take on the Memphis Grizzlies. The match-up will be very interesting to say the least considering the team come into this one both struggling and with equal records. The Nuggets have lost 8 games in a row, while the Grizz are coming off of a win over a solid Phoenix Suns team. Once again, the Nuggets will have the opportunity to end the ugly streak at home. Hopefully, things will change this time around, and the Nuggets can get a win in front of their fans.

Andre Miller will be without the team tonight since he has been suspended two games for yelling at Brian Shaw. Miller has been inconsistent just like most of the Nuggets this season, and could easily be on his way out of Denver. An interesting match-up in this one will be Ty Lawson against Mike Conley Jr. The young point guards will likely battle it out, but I see Lawson having the better game.

Another key matchup in this game will be Kenneth Faried on Zach Randolph. Randolph is dominant in the post, but Faried has the ability to shut down anyone down low. Also, how J.J. Hickson plays against Marc Gasol will help determine if he is for real or not. Hickson has been the most consistent player on the Nuggets offense lately, so another big game from him will only help us get a clearer picture on if he can be one of the leading scorers on the Nuggs for the rest of the year.

The bench has to step up for us in this one. The bench was so important when the Nuggets were winning games. There are no longer making an impact for Brian Shaw and it is really disappointing. Clearly, the Nuggets are not full of star players, so the bench has to somehow figure things out. You can’t blame the losing streak on the bench, but they have definitely contributed majorly to it.

Unfortunately, I do not see tonight being the night the Nuggets end this thing. The Grizzlies are coming off of a big win, and the Nuggets just keep losing. Sure they are at home, but it is just impossible to pick them to win any games right now. My prediction is a Grizzlies win with a score of 105-92.
