The Denver Nuggets have started a new streak. They beat the Los Angles Lakers to give them their second straight win. It is nice that the team is finally winning, and they are now only one game away from being .500. The Lakers struggled for most of the night, and it was expected. They have been without their key players all year long, and have been greatly disappointed. However, the Nuggs got the win, and finally have some momentum going forward.

The Nuggets were able to score 137 points last night. The Lakers have been pretty awful on the defensive side of the ball this year, but to the Nuggets credit, 137 points is impressive. Finally, the bench got things going and make a difference. Nate Robinson led the Nuggets in scoring with 21, and Timofey Mosgov had 20 off the bench. Another player who has been solid off the bench has been Evan Fournier, and he 12 last night. The Nuggets bench is deep and talented, and when they contribute, they Nuggs win games.

The starters also played great last night. Ty Lawson had 20 and 12, and Kenneth Faried finally stepped up. The forward has been struggling to score this season, but he was able to post a double-double. Faried finished with 17 and 13, and hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I predicted Wilson Chandler to have a good game last night and he did just that. Chandler had 17, and it appears that the Nuggets high scoring ways could be back.

The Lakers are an odd team to say the least this year. They were led in scoring by Pau Gasol who had 25. Aside from Pau, the rest of the team is just different from what we are used to seeing out in LA. Jodie Meeks had 23, and Nick Young had 21 off the bench. Also having a good game for the Lakers was recently added Kendall Marshall. Marshall was recently singed from the Delaware 87ers and he has been making the most of the opportunity. He has been getting solid minutes, and was able to hand out 17 dimes in last nights game.

Hopefully, the Nuggets have figured things out, and a nice stretch of basketball is ahead. Maybe Andre Miller was an issues in the locker room since the team has been doing well since he left the team. While that could just be a guess, maybe the Nuggets improved bench play is the reason why they are playing much better. Whatever the reason is, we will find out if the Nuggets are ready to play when they take on the Boston Celtics tomorrow night.
