The Nuggets lost again last night as the Pacers defeated them 119-80. It is safe to say that most people knew that without Ty Lawson, the Nuggets didn’t stand much of a chance against the 40-11 Pacers. For one of the first times this season, the Nuggs struggled to score points and this really hurt them. There is even worse news for the team and that is that Lawson may miss even more time with a broken rib.

A lot went wrong for Denver last night but the most notable thing was the lack of scoring. The Nuggets scored just 80 points and the starters struggled. Wilson Chandler did score 17 points, but he was just 6-17 from the field. Quincy Miller drew the star but couldn’t score one time in 27 minutes. Basically, the Nuggets are dysfunctional without Lawson on the court and we saw a prime example of this last night.

The Pacers clearly had no problem scoring the ball last night considering that all of their starters scored in double figures. David West led all scored with 25 points and 3 boards. This is another example of poor defense in the post. Big men have eaten the Nuggets alive all season, and something has to be done. Also chipping into the win for Indiana was Lance Stephenson who had 12 points and 2 three pointers.

The Nuggets have been playing sloppy basketball lately and it doesn’t appear that they will turn it around anytime soon. Lawson has already been ruled out for Wednesday’s games and there is some concern that he will be out even longer. If the Nuggets keep this up they might find themselves as sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. Up next for Denver is the Timberwolves tomorrow night.
