The Denver Nuggets came off a dissappointing loss to the Chicago Bulls and their coach, Brian Shaw, laid into them after the game about their effort. Apparently, some of what Shaw said hit home as they came out tonight against the Sacramento Kings and got things going to take a 52-48 lead into halftime. The Nuggets were led by Evan Fournier who came out on fire netting 20 points in the first half and could be on his way to a career high and top his 24 points against the Bucks a couple of games ago. DeMarcus Cousins showed why he is an up and comer in the League as he led the Kings in scoring with 15 points even though he started with 2 early fouls. Aaron Brooks got his first start since becoming a Nugget earlier in the week and facilitated the offense while dropping in 6 points of his own. Kenneth Faried continued his recent good play getting into the lane for baskets and even hitting jump shots for the Nuggs. Newcomer Jan Vessley had a good 6 minute stint in the first half and gave it an exclamation point with a steal and dunk that gave the Nuggets a 9 point lead before exiting in favor of Faried in the 2nd quarter. The second half of this game should be an interesting and entertaining 24 minutes and let’s hope the Nuggets can sustain their play for the remainder of the game and come away with a much needed win!
