Where Exactly Are The Nuggets Heading?

The Nuggets are in the middle of being a bad team and a good team. It sounds simple, but it really is not at all. The Nuggets have been struggling to be consistent and they have shown us that over the last few days. On Friday night, the Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat on the road 111-107. After this win, fans were thinking wow, maybe we really can be a good team in this league. But just a day later they blow a huge lead and lose to the much less scary Atlanta Hawks. It is frustrating to watch, and Nuggets fans can all agree that the direction that this team is heading for is pretty much unknown.

Trending Up:

Kenneth Faried is certainly trending up right for the Denver Nuggets. He has been showing us a completely different side of himself and it is awesome. He is racking up double-doubles and is scoring around 20 points per game. The mannimal never fails to show fans how energetic he is, but this is a new version of him. A much better version. Could you imagine if the Nuggets went through with trading Faried to New York? The good news is that Kenneth Faried is going to be here for a while, and that he is also getting better with time.

Ty Lawson has been that guy for the Nuggets this season. Lawson is enjoying his breakout season where he is averaging 18 points per game and 9 assits. He has been scoring at will since returning from his rib injury shortly after the all-star break but he finally came back to earth against the Hawks. Ty Lawson is going to be a star in the NBA and he is the player that the Nuggets will look to build their team around in the coming years.

Trending Down:

Wilson Chandler has been very disappointing this season. He is averaging 14 points per game, but it seems like he could be playing a lot better. Most nights he shoots way to many shots and has a terrible % from the field. If the Nuggets want to keep Chandler around in the future, he is going to need to take better shots and become and overall better scorer.

Brian Shaw is actually trending down as well. Honestly, does anyone feel good about the Brian Shaw hire right now? I know I don’t. You have to cut the guy some slack since some major injuries have occurred this season but he just doesn’t seem like a great coach right now. He got in a fight with a player and has failed to fixed this teams number one issue, which is the defense. The Nuggets defense has been terrible and Shaw just hasn’t fixed it.

Where is Denver Heading?

Who knows what direction the Nuggets are heading for. They are in limbo right now and they are playing well enough so that they can not land a top pick in next years loaded draft. Lawson and Faried are the players holding this team together and it is a shame that others have not stepped up. The Nuggets either need to consistently start winning some games or just go all out with the tanking scheme. I really hope that the Nuggets can figure things out asap, but the direction this team is heading for is incredibly unknown due to their inconsistent play all year. You never know what Nuggets team is going to show up.
