The NBA Draft Lottery is right around the corner. It will take place on Tuesday, May 20th. In case you are unfamiliar with the Lottery, and this years players, here at NuggLove we are going to tell you everything that you need to know. This years draft class is stacked and it contains players that will more than likely become superstars. Before we go over the top players, here is how the lottery works.

The Lottery is held to determine the top 14 draft picks in this years draft. The order is picked based on teams records and then the ping-pong balls. Based on what your record was, each team has a certain percentage to land the top-pick. The worst team has the best chance while the 14th ranked team has a lesser chance. Once the lottery begins, the balls begin to be selected and the order begins to be determined. While the worse teams have a better chance of landing the number one pick that is not always the case. Who will get the first overall pick this year is a mystery, but the favorites for the top three are the Bucks, 76ers, and Magic.

Now for the players that are going to be highly coveted. The top pick this year will most likely be Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins is a  Canadian superstar who played his freshman year at Kansas. Wiggins didn’t live up to his hype, but still averaged 17 points per game. Wiggins has the highest ceiling in this years draft class, and has the potential to be one of the best players the NBA has ever seen.

The other player that could be the first overall pick Jabari Parker. Parker on the other hand did not disappoint is his first season at Duke. Parker averaged 19 points per game and also 8 rebounds. Those are great stats for a freshman, but his ceiling is not as high as Wiggins. Parker is going to be a stud no doubt, but how much room does he have to grow is the question.

The last player that is going to be highly liked is Joel Embiid. Any team that is in need of a big man will want to draft Embiid. The youngster averaged 11 points per game last season to go along with 8 boards. While his stats aren’t amazing, his potential is unreal. Embiid has only been playing the game of basketball for a few years now, and after receiving the proper training and coaching he could become a top big-man in the league.

Now you are filled in on the NBA Draft Lottery. Who now know how the system works and when it will be taking place. You now also know who the top players are in this draft class and what teams are most likely to land them. Currently, your Denver Nuggets are projected to pick #10 but things could change. Hopefully the Nuggets can beat the odds and land a higher pick.
