Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson is one of the quickest players in the NBA. Standing at just 5′ 11″, he’s also one of the shortest. But since joining the Nuggets in 2009, he has proven that he can more than hold his own in this league of giants.

Over the years, Lawson has embraced his height and learned to use it to his advantage, blowing by larger, slower guards and mixing it up down low where some of the skyscrapers guarding the paint often lose track of him in the chaos of the moment. When Nate Robinson — who at 5′ 9″ also is among the shortest players in the league — joined the team last year, Lawson reveled in the dynamic duo’s “good things come in small packages” approach to the game. The pair even took to referring to themselves  as the #SmurfGang, using the tag in photos and tweets on various social networking sites:

Earlier this week, Lawson posted a photo on his Instagram account showing some #SmurfGang swag that he may have been looking to purchase, and it was pretty spectacular:

Personally, I dig the blinged-out Smurf, but not nearly as much as the diamond-encrusted Mario star next to it. What do you think, Nuggets fans? Could Lawson pull of the #SmurfGang chain?
