The NBA has released the All-Defensive Teams for the 2013-2014 season. Not very surprisingly, there were no Denver Nuggets listed as starters.
"2013-14 NBA All-Defensive First TeamCenter | Joakim Noah, ChicagoForward | Paul George, IndianaGuard | Chris Paul, LA ClippersForward | Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma CityG/F | Andre Iguodala, Golden State (fooey!)2013-14 NBA All-Defensive Second TeamForward | LeBron James, MiamiGuard | Patrick Beverley, HoustonGuard | Jimmy Butler, ChicagoForward | Kawhi Leonard, San AntonioCenter | Roy Hibbert, Indiana (I still want you in Denver)"
The surprising aspect of the All-Defensive Team was a couple of the NBA players who collected votes. For me specifically, it was Houston Rockets James Harden. I love watching Harden play basketball but “All-Defensive Team”?? A tip of the hat goes to former Denver Nugget Corey Brewer for collecting a vote.
This got me to thinking, which Denver Nugget is most likely to receive an All-Defensive Team vote? Wilson Chandler and Darrel Arthur spring into mind. Kenneth Faried in a year or two with some proper defensive tutelage from Denver’s coaching staff is a possibility. Maybe Danilo Gallinari but I’m not sure if that is just me missing him after a year off. What do you think? Please vote in the poll.
