The 2014 edition of the Las Vegas Summer League begins on Friday July 11th. Each team will play in three preliminary round games from July 11-15 before being seeded in a playoff tournament finishing with the Championship Game on July 21. The playoff tournament will feature a single elimination schedule that will crown the 2014 NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 21. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games. The Golden State Warriors enter the tournament as the defending champion. Here’s the schedule (all listed times are Pacific):
- Saturday, July 12 – Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets 3PM (game broadcast live on NBA TV)
- Sunday, July 13 – Chicago Bulls vs Denver Nuggets 5PM (game broadcast live on NBA TV)
- Tuesday, July 15 – Utah Jazz vs Denver Nuggets 5:30PM
- Playoffs begin Wednesday, July 16
Last year’s Denver Nuggets Summer League entry was headlined by Evan Fournier, Quincy Miller and the now traded Jordan Hamilton. The Nuggets finished 1-5 placing, finishing 21st of 22 teams.
Shortly after the NBA Draft, teams begin to announce their summer league rosters. If the Nuggets were to keep their #11 pick, the hope would be that whomever he is becomes a player on the summer league roster.
