The NBA draft is this Thursday, June 26th. It feels like I have been talking about this for a while now, but the week is finally here. Not only Nuggets fans, but all fans in the NBA are ecstatic right now. The mock drafts have all concluded, but the rumors are still swirling around. Now, all we can do is sit back and wait for the big night.

In all of my mock drafts that I have done for Nugg Love, I have predicted the Nuggets to take Gary Harris from Michigan State. Across other sites, there has been different opinions, but most had the same choice. Just the other day there has been a lot of talk about the Nuggets taking Dario Saric from Croatia. The reports claimed that if he was on the board when the Nuggs were picking, they would undoubtedly take him. However, Saric has signed a new deal with his team in Croatia, so it appears that he is no longer in play for the #11 pick.

After all of my research and scouting, I still believe the Nuggets will select Gary Harris. Harris is simply the best fit. He is a two-way player, and he could easily find himself as a starter in Denver at some point this season. Harris is an unbelievable defender and that is exactly what the Nuggets need to add to their roster. There was several times last season when Head Coach Brian Shaw complained about how bad the Nuggets D was.

Aside from his great defense, Gary Harris is a shooter. He can come off of picks and let the ball rip at any point in the game. Harris is a big-time scorer, and has tremendous upside. In college we saw how great he can be at scoring, but I think that there is still so much of his game that still can develop. The Nuggets can go in a lot of directions on Thursday night but like I have said all along, I see them selecting Gary Harris.
