Ahead of last week’s 2014 NBA Draft, Gary Harris travelled to Denver to participate in a pre-draft workout for the Nuggets. Earlier today, the team released additional highlights from Harris’ session and he shows off some of the skills that convinced the Nuggets to make him a first round pick:

The highlights are dominated by shots of Harris’ silky smooth jumper and his ability to shed a defender and battle his way through the paint. He adds an exclamation point at the 50-second mark when he throws down an impressive 360, one-handed dunk.

The team also posted audio from a conference call between Harris and members of the Denver Nuggets media pool:

During the call, Harris talks about his desire to come in and compete for minutes, his first impression of the team and the coaching staff, and his reaction when the Nuggets re-acquired Arron Afflalo. Harris keeps most of his answers short and to the point, but he seems comfortable interacting with some of the tough questions with which reporters confronted him.

The more I learn about Gary Harris, the more excited I am about seeing him participate in the upcoming Summer League games. That will be the first chance Nuggets fans have to see how he holds his own against a step-up in competition.
