The Denver Nuggets have agreed to sign former Towson star Jerrelle Benimon to a two year, partially guaranteed deal. Benimon played on Denver’s summer league team in Las Vegas this season, impressing  Nuggets scouts enough to warrant a deal. Benimon had a impressing showing in Vegas, playing in three games for Denver and even starting in two. “The Benimonster” averaged 10.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.7 blocks per game during the Las Vegas summer league and also shot a impressive 52% from the field. During his days at Towson, Benimon solidified himself as one of the best mid-major players in the country and establishing a name for himself.

He won the CAA Player of the Year award, while also earning First Team All-CAA and CAA All-Defensive team honors in back to back seasons. At 6’8″ and 245 lbs, Benimon is a bulldozer who’ll bring size and skill to the Nuggets frontcourt. The former Towson star is great at utilizing his body to score and rebound, muscling smaller forwards like it’s nothing. He can shoot and even has some three point range(Shot 41% and 32% from beyond the arc, during his last  two seasons at Towson), while also showing off phenomenal passing skills and touch. While he may not see any playing time this season, he will give the Nuggets an insurance policy in case anyone in the front court goes down. Welcome “The Benimonster” to the Mile High City!.
