Nuggets sign 2008 NBA Draft Bust Joe Alexander

Dan Feldman with Prebasketballtalk.com has another story on a Denver Nuggets signing to round out the preseason roster.  This one makes me shake my head a little bit.  Feldman quotes Shams Charania of RealGM and he tweeted the following:

"Free agent forward Joe Alexander has signed a training camp contract with the Denver Nuggets, league source tells RealGM. — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) September 24, 2014"

Alexander was drafted with the 8th pick of the 2008 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and was so bad in his rookie season that the Bucks chose not to option the 3rd year of his rookie Contract. After denying his option, the Bucks traded him to the Bulls and he rarely saw the court with the Bulls either. On the bright side, Alexander was a D-League All Star in 2011 (along with just recently signed forward Marcus Williams) but looks to only be a body for training camp in case the Nuggets injured players can’t go in scrimmages.

This post just shows what a slow time of the year it is for NBA news right now.  But at least I had SOMETHING to write today.  Maybe as we get closer to training camp there will be more exciting stories to write.  Like Danilo Gallinari getting close to 100% after his rehab.  Or the other Nuggets injured players are making great progress.  Or that the Nuggets traded for Roy Hibbert.   (Well that one is probably a pipe dream but…..).  Stayed tuned to NuggLove for any news on the Nuggets from now until Training Camp opens.
