Nuggets Head Coach Brian Shaw stated at the Nuggets Media Day on Tuesday that he was going to try and take Ty Lawson down to a Broncos practice to take a look at how Peyton Manning leads the Broncos so efficiently.  Shaw and the Broncos made that happen yesterday as Shaw and Lawson attended the Broncos Wednesday practice at Dove Valley for a little school session.   Both came away very impressed with the hard work and cohesion the Broncos show in spite of having to learn 5-10 times more plays than the Nuggets will be running this season.  Lawson was especially impressed and told Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post:

"Knowing where everybody is supposed to be, and also just working hard,” Lawson said. “If I’m working hard nobody else has an excuse not to work hard, too. If I’m here early getting shots up and lifting and doing the right things then everybody has to fall in line and do the same thing. You respect the hard work they go through. I didn’t know it was that hard. We have, what, 15-20 plays. They have 100, and then they have a variation of this and that. So they have to learn 200, 300 plays and then the next week they have to learn for the next team. It’s tough thing that they have to do. I have lot of respect for them.”"

Lawson and Shaw spent the day watching the practice and talking to Broncos players and coaches while there. This can be a very good thing for Lawson and the Nuggets as he seems to have grasped the kind of commitment that needs to be made to be successful in professional sports and I can only hope it translates to the hardwood during the upcoming Nuggets season.
