There was some great news that came from the Nuggets game last night, and there was some bad. The bad news was that the Nuggets lost the game to the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 93-75. The good news was that Javale McGee returned to the court for the first time since fracturing his leg last season.

McGee returned to play 11 minutes. Although he scored just one point and grabbed one board, his return is huge for the Nuggets. Getting back McGee gives the Nuggs even more depth at the Center position, and it shows that he is going to be healthy heading into the regular season, which starts a week from today.

Ty Lawson couldn’t go for the Nuggets as he is nursing a sore hamstring. He was defiantly missed in the game because the Nuggets starters combined for just 25 points. The only bright spot was off the bench where Wilson Chandler scored 13 points. Thankfully, it’s just the preseason, and the Nuggets have some time to fine tune their issues.

The Nuggets are off until Friday when they will take on the Golden State Warriors. Things won’t get any easier in this game, but hopefully the team can continue to get healthy. Ty Lawson is not expected to play, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him sit out the rest of the pre-season. Be sure to check for more updates and follow us on twitter @Nugg_Love.
