With game time just a few hours away, the excitement surrounding the game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets is starting to build. Following today’s practice sessions for both squads, players and coaches met with members of the media to share their pre-game thoughts on tonight’s contest. Here are some highlights.

First up, here is Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw sharing his thoughts about what scares him most about LeBron James and the Cavs, the Nuggets defense and the need to cut down on the number of times they are sending opponents to the charity stripe, and even how his playing days with Kobe Bryant gives him some insight into what players like Kyrie Irving are going through in adjusting to LeBron’s presence on the Cavs:

Next up, Cavs star LeBron James used his time with the media to dispel rumors about a verbal altercation between him and Kyrie Irving, the need to get Ty Lawson out of his comfort zone, and how he doesn’t see any similarities between the Cavs and the Nuggets despite each team entering the game with disappointing 1-3 records:

Finally, here’s Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving making jokes about the rumored confrontation between him and James, how “The Big Three” are learning to play with one another within the offense, and his assessment of how he’s adjusting to becoming a secondary option on the team this year:

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Cavs aren’t taking the Nuggets very seriously tonight? Granted, it’s not like the Nuggets have given them any reason to get up for tonight’s game, but as a Denver fan, it irks me to see James and Irving so dismissive of the Nuggets. Nothing would make me happier than to see the Nuggets run them out of the gym tonight so James, Irving and the rest of the Cavs have to listen to ESPN and everyone who writes about the league talk about OMG, WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE CAVS?!?!

GO. NUGGETS.
