The Denver Nuggets lost once again on Sunday, as they fell to the New York Knicks by a score of 109-93. The Nuggets are now 2-7 on the season, and off to a horrible start. The team has clearly not meshed well together to start the year, and it is beginning to become worrisome. The bench has been a huge concern, but like last year, the Nuggets are struggling on defense and giving up a lot of points night in and night out.

Kenneth Faried continued to be one of the few bright spots for the Nuggets as he scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was very efficient in the game considering he shot 7-9 from the field. Faried has been one of the Nuggets only players contributing and he was great against the Knicks.

Ty Lawson scored 17 points in the game, but did not play as great as it looks. He shot just 6-18 from the field. Lawson did have 9 assist in the game and put his teammates in good situations. Arron Afflalo led the team in scoring, and had 18 points. The starters once again did their part, but the Nuggets bench only scored 23 points in the game.

The Knicks got huge games out of stars Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith. The two each scored 28 points in the game, and dominated the Nuggets. They scored at will, and both combined for 13 points in the game. The Nuggets had a tough time playing defense again last night and that is what untimely buried them.

It’s been ugly so far for the Nuggets. They have not played well at all, and have lost 7 of 9 games. This was supposed to be a huge turn around season for the Nuggets, but they are not living up to the hype. Although it is a long season, the Nuggets will need to get things going sooner rather than later. Up next for Denver are the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
