The Denver Nuggets scored a huge win in Cleveland last night, beating the hometown Cavs 106-97. There were a lot of highlights for the Nuggets, which we looked at earlier. But that doesn’t mean it was a walk in the park for Denver. I mean, they were facing a team featuring LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao, none of whom are slouches (go ahead and nominate me for the understatement of the year, folks!). And that means the Cavs were bound to get a couple highlights of their own against the good guys. So close your eyes if you’re sensitive, Nuggets fans, because these may be tough to watch, but game has to respect game, right?!

LeBron Swats Ty Lawson
In the second half, Lawson found himself being guarded by the much larger LeBron James after a switch, and you could tell Ty was a little excited about the prospects, and maybe just a little nervous, too. After setting up the best player in the world with some smooth handles, Ty made a move to the basket and put up a rather weak one-hander. LeBron was having none of it:

R.I.P. Ty Lawson.

Anderson Varejao Stuffs  Wilson Chandler
We all know Wilson Chandler is one of the most dynamic finishers on this year’s Nuggets squad, and for a moment last night, it looked like we might get to see Chandler throw down a big one. He got the ball on the wing as he streaked toward the basket, but Anderson Varejao gained ground on him as they neared the basket and when Chandler hit the launch pad, the man Cleveland fans call The Wild Thing grounded the flight and made sure the ball didn’t get anywhere near the hoop. It was a pretty impressive play:

Gotta give Chandler credit for going right at the big man, but he may have been better served pulling up on this one and living to fight another day.

Still, even though these plays are tough to watch, Nuggets fans can rest easy in knowing we got to point at the scoreboard last night and let the final point totals do all the talking.
