The Nuggets embarked on a 3 game road trip tonight, and they did not get off to the best start. The Nuggets lost to the Washington Wizards by a score of 119-89. It was ugly on all levels, and the Wizards straight up embarrassed the Nuggets. It was tough to find scoring all night, and the Wizards took care of business.

Wilson Chandler was the Nuggets leading scorer on the night by scoring 20 points. Although he was the leader, he shot just 6-14 from the field. Lawson had similar results in the game shooting just 3-10 from the field, but scoring 14 points. On the other hand, Mozgov, Afflalo, and Faried combined for just 19 points and struggled all night.

The Wizards clearly did not have a problem scoring as they had 119 points. All of their starters were in double digits expect John Wall, but he had 12 assists. Somewhat surprisingly, the Wizards got a huge game out of Kris Humprhies who went off for 20 points. Off the bench for the Wizards, Rasual Butler and Otto Porter had 16 points each.

This is certainly not how the Nuggets wanted to start off their road trip. They wanted to grab 3 out of 3 wins on this trip, but that’s clearly not an option anymore. The Nuggets are going to need to regroup quickly and put this loss behind them. Up next for the Nuggets are the Atlanta Hawks Sunday at 3:30.
