The Nuggets rallied late against the San Antonio Spurs but fell short. They got behind way too early and that is what ultimately doomed them. They pushed late for a come back, but the Spurs held on. The Spurs starters were consistent as always, but the Nuggets got a huge game out of Arron Afflalo. The Nuggets fell to 10-14 on the season, and we saw much of what we have all year in this specific game.

The Nuggets have been just average this season, and we saw this against the Spurs. We saw them fight late on in the game, but it clearly wasn’t enough. Arron Afflalo erupted for 31 points in the game, and Wilson Chandler stepped up with 14. Ty Lawson struggled big time in the game as he shot just 2-10 from the field and scored just 6 points.

The Nuggets got a great game out of Jusuf Nurkic off the bench who scored 10 points. As for the rest of the bench, it was a different story. The rest of the bench combined for just 13 points, with 8 of them coming from Darrell Arthur. The Nuggets bench has been incredibly inconsistent this season, and they need to get things going before it gets too late for the Nuggets.

Kenneth Faried suffered an ankle injury in the game, and the team will update his status for tomorrow nights game agains the Houston Rockets. The Nuggs will be at home, but their match-up against the Rockets is obviously not an easy one. The hope is that the Nuggets will not get behind too early and that they can pull of an upset to create some momentum.
