With the holidays just around the corner, trade speculations is starting to heat up around the NBA as teams look to reload, reboot or just blow everything up and start over. The Denver Nuggets find themselves in a precarious position – they have to decide quickly if they want to make a move and try to improve this season’s roster in hopes of making a push for the eighth-seed in the Western Conference playoffs, or begin the process of disbanding the current roster in hopes of either finding pieces that better fit Brian Shaw’s system or (*shudder*) start the long process of rebuilding from scratch.

For purposes of this discussion, let’s assume the Nuggets truly are committed to making a run at the playoffs this season. The injury bug that plagued the team last year is already rearing its ugly head again, so there are no guarantees that adding any of these players will make much of a difference if players currently on the roster can’t get and stay healthy. But assuming players like JaVale McGee, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, Randy Foye and Nate Robinson can find a way to stay on the court, here are five players — all of whom have been mentioned by NBA analysts as potentially being available — the Nuggets should at least consider acquiring before this season’s trade deadline.
