Ty Lawson Posts and Deletes Instagram Video of Himself Smoking

Bill Simmons of Grantland nominated Ty Lawson as Social Media MVP. Simmons wrote: “I LOVE YOU, TY LAWSON! (SOCIAL MEDIA) M-V-P! (SOCIAL MEDIA) M-V-P! (SOCIAL MEDIA) M-V-P!” He earlier merited Lawson for poking fun at James Harden for his lack of defense on his Instagram and loved how Lawson gave away free tickets to followers on his twitter. What he did on his Instagram this time may have just made him a lock for the MVP.

Ty Lawson is a very rambunctious character and his actions of late have proved that. Now smoking and drinking is not my cup of tea, but guess it is for Ty. Mr. Lawson decided it was apparently a good idea for his image/cred to post a video of him smoking a hookah for the world to see after having a domestic abuse case on him back in 2013 and being arrested for a DWI just three mere weeks ago.

After just 30 minutes of the video being up Lawson finally decided it wasn’t in his best interest to show the world and a crowd of disappointed commentators a video that what he is spending his All-Star Break doing is showing off his smoking ability.

Personally I am very disappointed in Ty. If you are making close to $10M a year you should take your job very seriously, especially if what you’re doing in your free time could potentially hurt your ability to play. I say he is letting his teammates down and not being a veteran leader, not showing the younger kids on the team right from wrong.

Come on Ty, some kids look up to you! Don’t you need healthy lungs to sprint up and down the basketball court anyways?
