The trades just keep coming in for the Denver Nuggets. Less then an hour after trading Arron Afflalo to the Trail Blazers, Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Nuggets have agreed on trading JaVale McGee and Oklahoma City Thunder’s first round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers.

JaVale McGee signed a four-year, $44 million contract in 2012. It’s simple to say JaVale didn’t live up to the contract he had signed. Denver was hoping to have him emerge as the starting center, however with a number of injures and the emergence of Jusuf Nurkic, McGee never showed what he was capable of.

According to Wojnarowski, all the Nuggets received in return are the rights to Turkish player Cenk Akyol. Which shows Denver really wanted to unload McGee’s contract, and begin looking towards the future.

As Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post points out, with both trades that went down today, the Nuggets created $19 million in traded player exceptions. He also reported there’s no plans to move Wilson Chandler, which could change if a offer comes along to change Denver’s mind:

Do you think this was a good trade? Post your thoughts in the comments down below. We’ll have much more both of the trades so check back throughout the day.
