The NBA draft lottery took place last night and the Nuggets were awarded the 7th pick in this years draft. The pick is extremely important to the Nuggets future, and they will be looking to add a piece that will help them for years to come. The draft will not come until next month on June 25th. Until then, there will be total speculation of who the Nuggets will pick, and there have already been mock drafts released.

I’ve taken a look at two mock drafts so far and both have the Nuggets taking Duke forward Justise Winslow. The first mock draft was from Draft Express, and the second was Bleacher Report. Bleacher Reports had this to say about the pick.

"The Denver Nuggets could use a wing who is interchangeable between the 2 and 3 spots, and Justise Winslow is a dynamic answer at No. 7.No matter how long it takes to refine his skills, you can bet he’ll immediately supply sideline-to-sideline defense, superb offensive instincts and energy. In the long term, he may become an elite Swiss army knife. His sporadic open-floor slashing could turn into dangerous isolation handles, and his promising three-point stroke could blossom into all-around shooting mastery. Those skills would open up the rest of his game, which includes passing and rim-rocking finishes.” –Bleacher Report’s  Jonathan Washerman"

While it is extremely early to start guessing who the Nuggets will take, Justise Winslow does seem like a perfect match. The Nuggets are desperate for a wing scorer, and Winslow could provide just that. He could play both forward and guard which would be incredibly valuable to the team. This is the first look at who the Nuggets might take, and I’m sure there will be many more to come as well.
