The best coach on the free-agent market is Scott Brooks. Brooks was shockingly dismissed by the Oklahoma City Thunder after the season, and he is now free to join a new team. However, according to multiple reports, it’s looking like Brooks might just sit out the next season.

Brooks is a great coach who is likely looking to step into a position where he can win right away. The Nuggets are clearly not in that position right now. They have some great building blocks, but they are not going to be winning a championship anytime soon.

Apparently, Brooks won’t even consider the Denver Nuggets, or the New Orleans Pelicans. He has passed on interviews with both teams, and has decided that he will likely sit out next year. There will not likely be any ‘great’ coaching jobs opening up anytime soon, so he will just sit out and wait. The stradegy is not a bad one by Brooks as he is giving himself the chance to coach a better time when the right time comes.
