The Nuggets are still looking for a new coach, and there is some steam picking up. According to Marc Stein, former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Malone is set to have a second interview with the Nuggets. This is a bit surprising as Malone’s name wasn’t being mentioned last week.

Malone did not have much success as a head coach with the Kings as he was fired in the middle of his second season. He won only 28 games in his first season, and he does not seem like he has the potential to turn the Nuggets around.

While the second interview might seem like Malone is going to lock up the job, Stein says that Melvin Hunt and Mike D’Antoni are still very much in the mix for the job. D’Antoni still seems to be the best fit for the team but it appears that the Nuggets are keeping their options open.
