“It’s sad, man,” Barton told CBS Sports. “What’s going on, and it’s a real big issue. People are trying to push it to the side and make it about patriotism and a lot of other things. Listen, the issue is that young black men are being killed, by cops, on camera, and they’re innocent. There’s no way to get around that.”
Will Barton was able to take the league by storm in an outbreak of a 2015-2016 season, and now he can use his wanted opinion to create change.
He joins just one of a couple of Nuggets to comment on the recent crisis that has started to shake the American culture.
These protests stemmed from Colin Kapernick’s sitting during the National Anthem. While Barton does have a point, in the fact, that many of the critics of the protest turned it make it about patriotism at first.

It is reassuring to see Nuggets speaking their mind and trying to create positive change in the Mile High City. Barton has been a quality role model in all the help that he has done for the community.
