Game Recap: Denver Falls To Memphis

Marc Gasol had his way with Denver.
The Denver Nuggets suffered their second loss in a row. To be honest, they look out-matched right from tip-off.
Was it that Memphis just had too many weapons? Was the home team missing Jokic? The answer is it was a combination of both.
A blowout of 20 points on your home-court is not what you want to see from a team fighting for a playoff spot. Normally I would say this is an indication that Denver isn’t as good as we thought.

However, since we were without our best player and Jameer Nelson was ejected early, I can’t go that far this time around. Marc Gasol went on a tear scoring 24 points on 60% shooting.
Obviously defense was not much of a concern for the Nuggets in this game when someone posts those type of numbers. The defensive team prevailed at the end of the night and once again showcased the Nuggets’ lack-luster defensive efforts. Make no mistake, the Nuggets have to start playing some defense if they want to secure the 8th seed.
On the back end of a back-to-back, the Nuggets look as if they are lost without Nikola Jokic. They need to figure things out fast considering he is still day-to-day with his injury.
Otherwise, it could get ugly quickly for this growing team.
