The Denver Nuggets lost their last game against San Antonio in a blowout. Now, they host the hot and ready Mavericks as they try to get back on track.

The Nuggets are on a huge roller coaster, as we speak. Every time they think they are going on the right path, they get defeated, blown out or something like it, and they fall again. But what I love about this Nuggets team, is that they don’t give up.

Maybe we can get frustrated because often we see them lacking in everything on the court as they see how the game is slipping away from them, but they get back every time, fighting like they know to do it and getting some huge wins.

So it’s that time when you took that hard loss against the Spurs and put it behind you and focus the next task at hand: beating the hot Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks are currently on a 4-game winning streak and they have been hot ever since they signed Yogi Ferrell to a 10-day contract. In this 4 game winning streak, the once struggling, bottom of the Western Conference Mavericks team, have beaten the San Antonio Spurs, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trailblazers.

If this isn’t enough, the Mavericks are currently first in Net Rtg in the last 8 games. They have found their way and are playing outstandingly well without much help from their veterans in Deron Williams and Dirk Nowitzki.

So, what should the Nuggets do to secure a victory tonight?

Jokic had an off game against San Antonio. But to be fair, this is the first time in weeks he has been like that. He has been awesome for the Nuggets, posting a triple double against the Milwaukee Bucks two games ago, and he is doing everything he can to help his team win.

The Mavericks are not going to back down and that is for sure. They are now standing at a record of 20-30. They are just two games behind the Nuggets and that precious 8th seed that everyone is competing for. So Denver needs to step up and play prime basketball if they want to secure a win.

Both teams give up more points than they score, so defense has been an issue for them. Ironically, defense will be the key to win the game. Dallas have been lighting it up from the three point line in their last 4 games, as we all saw how Ferrell exploded for 9-11 from three. One of the Nuggets issues is defending that three point line, so defense is key here.

Expecting huge productions from the young guys is something that can help the Nuggets too. It is all about confidence, and taking it up against these kinds of teams will be the factor that brings the young guys closer to having a normal rotation spot in the lineup.

This game will be a fun one, I can already predict that. But if everybody can put the last game behind them and the rumors and speculations, I am sure that the Nuggets can take this one. It is time to get serious.
