Denver will have a test right after the All-Star Break.

The Denver Nuggets will instantly have a must win game when they come off the All-Star Break.

They will battle the Sacramento Kings who are on their heels for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They have recently surpassed the Portland Trail Blazers in the race for the 8th seed with the Nuggets still leading the pack.

Unfortunately, the Nuggets could easily relinquish the lead if they are not careful. These two teams met on January 3rd in the Pepsi Center where the Kings came away victorious.

This was during a time of uncertainty in the Denver locker room before they took their trip to London to turn the ship around.

DeMarcus Cousins had his way with the Nuggets’ interior defense last time and very well might do so again considering Denver does not have a solid post defender since they traded Jusuf Nurkic for Mason Plumlee.

If the Nuggets want to show the NBA that they mean business and truly want a playoff spot, then they will come out fired up for this game. They will treat this game as a playoff game, a game that is a do or die game this young core.

If not, then the Kings and Trail Blazers will suddenly gain more confidence going forward and catch up with the Denver Nuggets in the playoff race.

If Denver can get somewhat healthy, then they will have a chance. Rest assured that head coach Michael Malone will want to desperately defeat his former squad who ran him out of town when he didn’t see eye to eye with the front office.

Hopefully, the Nuggets will prevail and maintain a healthy lead in the 8th spot in the West.
