Nikola Jokic struggled, but it is just a symptom of growing pains.

There is no need to worry about Nikola Jokic after the Minnesota game. While the guy only shot about 32% from the field, he still posted a double-double.

The thing with Jokic is that his “bad,” games are still decent games. Even a lot of role players in today’s NBA would love to have a stat-line from one of his quote on quote “bad,” games. This is kind of what it is like.

When Peyton Manning would have a bad game, his stat-line would still read somewhere along the lines of 300 yards passing along with at least one touchdown pass. Why was it considered bad? Because it wasn’t accustomed to his standards and the precedent he had established for himself.

More from Nugg Love

That is becoming the similar case for Nuggets center, Nikola Jokic. The man who has proven to be a steal for the Denver Nuggets is quickly making other opposing teams kick themselves for passing up on him.

The man who was taken in the second round while a commercial was playing when he was picked is quickly becoming the next big thing in the Mile High city. His impact is something that many teams, including playoff caliber ones, would love to have on their respective squads.

Not to mention, many coaches would most likely get along with him greatly and love coaching and watching the Serbian big man grow. Could you imagine how deadly Jokic would be with Gregg Popovich as a head coach?

The Spurs would suddenly become more un-stoppable.Thankfully, that is not the case and he is a Denver Nugget. Not just any Denver Nugget, probably the most exciting Nugget to watch ever since Kenneth Faried and Ty Lawson were drafted.

While the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves wasn’t up to par with Jokic’s recent production, there is no need to worry. He is still in his second year and learning, so a game like this is still going to happen once in a while.

Even the great veterans in the NBA have an off day once in a while.
