Houston is in over their heads trying to get Wilson Chandler.

With the Clippers and Thunder trying to vie for the services of Wilson Chandler, another candidate has emerged.

The Houston Rockets have now made their interest in the versatile small forward known. The Nuggets hold the cards as they are the “bachelor,” hearing cases from the quote on quote “candidates.” (Yes, I know, terrible analogy, but you understand my point.)

While the Thunder and Clippers have some valuable assets Denver could use, Houston really has nothing to offer the Nuggets. If you really think about it, they should not even bother calling because realistically the Nuggets do not want anyone on Houston that badly.

We know they are not going to even entertain the thought of trading their best player, James Harden, and outside of him, no one really makes a Denver fan go “he’d be perfect for our squad.”

Unless the Rockets were willing to take Nelson and/or Mudiay with Chandler while giving up Patrick Beverly, I do not see Denver General Manager Tim Connelly engaging in serious trade talks with the Rockets.

With the news that Gallinari will opt out to become a free agent this summer surfacing, the stakes for Wilson Chandler just went up a notch. As a result, the Rockets are over their heads to try to trade for him.

The Rockets are not a bad team, but they just do not possess the needs of Denver. With Oklahoma City and Los Angeles, there is a player or two on both of those squads who could benefit Denver drastically and fill a void on the Nuggets.

Unfortunately, I do not believe Houston has the assets to to convince the Nuggets to trade Chandler to their respective team.
