In order for Denver to stay in playoff contention, they need to win at least 3 of the next 5 games.

The Denver Nuggets have a difficult stretch of games coming up. With this team though, this is nothing new.

Keep in mind that Denver had the hardest strength of schedule for the first 10 games of the year out of any team in the league. The Nuggets will face the Memphis Grizzlies, the Chicago Bulls, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Sacramento Kings over their next 5 games.

If the Nuggets want to prove they are serious about competing for the post season, they must win at least 3 of these games. Games that they will be favored will include the Charlotte and Sacramento game. However, teams like Milwaukee, Chicago, and Memphis will pit them as the underdog. That means this squad is going to have to pull of an upset at least once over this stretch. The two games that they will be favored in are not exactly “give mes,” either.

The Kings currently lead the season series 2-0 and the Hornets have not played Denver yet. This means, we aren’t sure how us and Charlotte will exactly match-up with each other. Also, Denver has a tendency of losing quote on quote “trap games.”

They are a team who defeated the Golden State Warriors, but then went on to lose 2 straight games to teams fighting for a playoff spot just like the  Nuggets.

If they can edge out a win against Memphis, then they will be in great shape. Chicago will be looking for vengeance after losing to the Nuggets earlier, so expect the Bulls to come out hungry and ready to prove something.

The Kings are on the Nuggets’ heels for the 8th seed still and seem to have Denver’s number this season, so it will be interesting to see what happens in that match-up.

Regardless, the Nuggets must go at least 3-2 over this next 5 game stretch in order to keep their lead of for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
