Denver has had a tough time stringing together wins this season.

With how inconsistent Denver has been this year, it is almost a miracle that they are in the 8th seed as of right now. Thanks to some of the Western Conference teams taking a step back such as Portland and Dallas, Denver finds themselves in a great position.

However, they need to stop being so inconsistent. It seems like whenever Denver wins a game, they go on to lose the next two. When they seem to get on a roll, they lay an egg against a team they should have beat.

The fact they have a record of under .500 (26-33) showcases this fact. The Nuggets best winning streak so far this season has been a four game winning streak from earlier in the year, but they have gone through two different five game losing streaks.

You take away those losing streaks and that is quite the difference. Suddenly, the Nuggets could be the 7th or even the 6th seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, hindsight does not work in the NBA. If you comb through the schedule this year, you will find a myriad of wins followed by a couple losses and a win followed by a loss and so forth. In order to make the post season, they are going to have to go on a roll at some point.

Whether it be a five game wins steak or a 10 game streak, it is going to have to happen.  The Kings are only a half game back right now and Portland, Dallas, and New Orleans are all hungry for the final playoff spot.

There is good chance one of these teams will get hot at one point, so the Denver Nuggets need to kick it in gear.

They need to learn how to win on a consistent basis not just to make the playoffs, but to learn to grow as a young developing squad at the same time.
