If Denver wants to maintain a basketball team, they must make the post season next season.

The Denver Nuggets were inches away from a post season birth this season. Unfortunately, close is not good enough in the NBA. However, the growth of this young squad has raised another topic of discussion.

That is the possibility of the Nuggets leaving the Mile High eventually. I don’t like it, other fans don’t like it, but we have to face reality. This team is owned by the same owner who moved the Rams from St. Louis to Los Angeles in the NFL.

There is a way to help remedy this potential fate. Before I go any further, let me be clear that there are no plans I am aware of of Kroenke is planning on moving the Nuggets out of Denver. Unfortunately, with the low attendance at Pepsi Center games the past few years, fans need to be wary. One major key to keeping the Nuggets in Colorado is them making the playoffs. With how close they were this season, it would actually be one of the biggest let downs in franchise history if this promising team came up short again and failing to reach the playoffs next year.

The fate of the Nuggets staying in the city of Denver lies in the players’ and coach’s hands. By this, I mean that the Nuggets will possibly be saving the fate of NBA basketball in the Mile High city if they are able to reach the post season.

If not, then Denver could be in a lot of trouble in terms of keeping a professional basketball team in the city of Denver.
