Hernangomez had a great season for Denver.

Juancho Hernangomez was not a known commodity coming out of last year’s NBA Draft. There were even a few Nuggets fans who were upset at the pick due to it being “yet another foreign prospect,” or not being “the sexiest pick.”

Juancho quickly silenced his critics though. He had many premier games this year where he showed that he was more than able to hold his own in this league. Let us not forget the game where he torched the Golden State Warriors when Denver was extremely short handed.

While he does need to bulk up a bit, he showed that he is a great deep ball threat. He can play some minutes at the four spot, but he is most effective at the wing stretching the defense from deep. Don’t forget his brother Willy is also in the league and was drafted by the New York Knicks, so be on the lookout for a sibling NBA rivalry in the future.

I personally call Juancho “the Spaniard,” due to his great potential and the fact that he is a Spanish sensation, (those who have the seen the movie “Gladiator,” will know what I am talking about.) Not to mention, he seemed effective coming off the bench and starting in the starting rotation.

This bodes well for the Nuggets franchise as Juancho is making GM Tim Connelly look like a genius with yet another solid draft pick.

If Hernangomez keeps up on the pace that he is currently on, he will be regarded as the steal of last summer’s NBA Draft.
